Indicators

The indicator dialog, the full study catalog and study settings.

Everything a chart draws besides its main series is a study: order-flow layers like the heatmap and CVD, profiles, and classic indicators like RSI. Each study has inputs, plots with their own colours, and a place: over the price (overlay) or in its own pane below.

Add a study

Press /, click Indicators in the top bar, or choose Add indicator… from the chart’s context menu. The dialog is called Indicators, metrics and strategies.

SectionWhat it lists
SearchType to filter by name
FavouritesStudies you starred. Liquidity Heatmap, CVD, Volume Profile and VWAP are starred by default.

Filter the list to All, Overlays or Panes. Click a row to add the study to the active chart; the dialog stays open so you can add several, and the row confirms with Added (or Added ×2 for a second copy). Star a row to make it a favourite. Studies that need live order-flow data carry a badge.

Delta VolumePaneBuy minus sell volume per bar, by trade size, in coin, USD or percent of the bar’s volume, with an average
Cumulative Volume DeltaPaneRunning delta as a line or candles, or each bar’s delta as a histogram, by trade size and venue, in coin or USD, restarting never, daily, weekly or monthly, with an average

See CVD and delta.

Positioning

StudyPlaceWhat it shows
Open InterestPaneOutstanding contracts as a line, an area, its change per bar or candles (O H L C per bar), in coin or USD, with an average; history is what the data hub recorded
Funding RatePaneFunding at each bar’s close, per period or annualized, positive and negative in their own colours, with an average
Net PositioningPaneEstimated net longs and shorts per bar, with cumulative lines that can restart daily, weekly or monthly
LiquidationsOverlayForced liquidations as markers sized by notional; longs, shorts or both, the largest labelled
Liquidation VolumePaneLiquidated shorts (B) and longs (S) per bar, mirrored, stacked or net, in USD or coin, with an average
OB DepthPaneBid and ask depth within ±0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 2.5, 5 or 10 % (default 5 %) over time as lines, stacked areas or a net histogram, with an imbalance strip
Order Book ProfileOverlayThe current book as bars at the right edge, near the price or all visible, per row or cumulative, with the largest sizes
Gamma ExposureOverlayWhere BTC and ETH options on Deribit make dealers hedge: call wall, put wall, gamma flip and the exposure per strike at the right edge, for all expiries or only 0DTE, the next, this week’s or this month’s; see Gamma exposure

Profiles

StudyPlaceWhat it shows
Volume Profile (Visible Range)OverlayVolume at price for the visible bars
Session Volume Profile (VPSV)OverlayA volume profile per session with developing levels
TPO Profile (Market Profile)OverlayLetters per period at price per session
Naked POCsOverlayPoints of control price has not traded through since, optionally only near the price, labelled nPOC or with their price
VWAPOverlayVolume-weighted average price, anchored per session, week or never, with up to three deviation bands
Cash SessionsOverlayThe regular hours of the Tokyo (09:00–15:30), London (08:00–16:30) and New York (09:30–16:00) stock markets in their local time, daylight saving included, and an optional custom session in UTC: boxes from each session’s high to its low or background bands, the session’s name and range in percent, its open and midpoint, and its high and low carried on until the next session of the same market. The legend says which sessions are open and when they close, or which opens next

See Profiles.

Study settings

Open a study’s settings from its legend row (gear, or double-click the row) or from the object tree.

The settings come in tabs. A simple indicator has Inputs; order-flow layers group theirs:

LayerTabs
HeatmapsGeneral, Interaction
Liquidation heatmapGeneral, Interaction, Profile, Leverage bands
Volume profilesDisplay, Row / Scaling, POC, Value Area (and Session)
TPOGeneral, Session, Row / Scaling, POC, Value Area, Marks, Summary
Delta, CVDDisplay, Trade size, Average
Bar StatsGeneral, Stats
Net PositioningGeneral, Absorption
BubblesDisplay, Filter

Then, where they apply:

  • Price marker (pane studies): the current value on the scale (on by default), in the pane at its right edge, a dashed line across the pane at it with its width, and the bar’s countdown under the scale’s tag.
  • Style: the colour, width, line style and visibility of each plot, and for pane studies the Pane: its own, or shared with the pane above.
  • Aggregate (order-flow layers): the markets the layer reads, see Markets of an indicator.
  • Defaults resets to the catalog values. Cancel restores what you had. OK keeps the changes.

Edits apply to the chart live while the dialog is open.

The legend and panes

Each study gets a row in the chart’s legend with its short name, inputs and current values. Hover the row for show or hide, settings and remove. A script’s row also has Source code ({}, also in its right-click menu): it opens the script in the editor, yours or one from the community library alike.

Pane studies stack below the price pane. Drag the separators to resize them, and drag or scroll a pane’s value axis to stretch its scale.

Studies compute only when their inputs or the bars change. The calculations are pure array maths with unit tests.

Writing your own

Write your own indicators and strategies in Flowscope Script: open the script editor from the bottom bar or Indicators › My scripts › New script. The AI assistant can write one from a description.

Sharing a pane

Two pane studies can draw in one pane, as Delta Volume and CVD often do: right-click the lower study’s legend row and choose Move to › The pane above (or set Pane to “Shared with the pane above” on its Style tab). It keeps its own scale and value tags; its legend row sits under the first. Move to › A new pane splits them again.

Pin to the pane’s scale, in the same menu, draws a shared study on the scale of the pane’s own study instead of its own, so the two compare by value (two CVDs, an oscillator and its average). Its own scale undoes it.

Arranging panes

Move the pointer over a study pane and five buttons appear at its top right; the legend row’s right-click menu has the same actions.

ButtonDoes
MaximizeShows the pane large: the others fold to their names and the chart keeps a quarter. Again restores them. It is a view, not saved with the layout
CollapseFolds the pane to its legend row; again unfolds it. Saved with the layout
Up, DownMoves the pane above or below its neighbour, with the studies sharing it
RemoveRemoves the study

Drag the line between two panes to resize them (not while one is maximized).
